Ubisoft Appoints Darryl Long as Managing Director of Ubisoft Singapore and Ubisoft Philippines

Singapore, January 19, 2021 – Today, Ubisoft announced the appointment of Darryl Long as Managing Director of Ubisoft Singapore and Ubisoft Philippines.

Darryl Long began his career with Ubisoft at Montreal in 2003 and was previously Managing Director at Ubisoft Winnipeg, a studio he founded in 2018. Under his leadership for the past three years, he has built a highly talented and motivated tech team. Darryl’s hands-on knowledge of both tech and producing great AAA games is second to none, largely thanks to his broad mandate in Winnipeg and his work on many of Ubisoft’s biggest brands during his time at Ubisoft Montreal. These include Rainbow Six and Far Cry, and he played an instrumental role as the Producer on Far Cry 5.

With over 450 staff, Ubisoft Singapore is the largest AAA development studio in the Southeast Asia region, and has contributed to every Assassin’s Creed game since Assassin’s Creed II, including the latest Viking adventure, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. With its technical expertise in naval gameplay and water technology, it is also the lead studio for the upcoming AAA game Skull & Bones.

Ubisoft Philippines is the country’s first and only AAA game development studio home to around 150 professionals. It has been responsible for co-developing Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, Skull & Bones, For Honor, Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Assassin's Creed III Remastered, Assassin's Creed Liberation and Assassin's Creed Rogue on Nintendo Switch, and The Crew 2.

“I’ve been incredibly impressed by the work of Ubisoft Singapore and Ubisoft Philippines and the evolution of both studios over the years. I am honored to further accelerate their success side by side with both teams. My priorities are to ensure we build upon a culture of trust, inclusion and collaboration and that we have all the conditions necessary to create the very best games in the industry,” said Darryl Long.

Together, the two studios have a combined experience of 18 years in the region developing AAA games with Ubisoft Singapore opening its doors in 2008 and Ubisoft Philippines founded in 2016.
