If you haven’t heard, we’re always on the lookout for playtesters! For the safety of our testers, we’ve started to conduct remote playtests, which means you can now play our games before anyone else without having to travel!
You must be wondering, what skills should I have? What do I need to become a playtester? Should I be a pro in certain games? Fret not, because we’ve put together this short guide on what to expect!
WHAT IS PLAYTESTING?
Playtesting is having independent third parties like you to play our games and give us valuable feedback. It’s an essential part of development and will help us improve the game experience greatly, you could say it’s like having someone taste the dishes we’ve cooked! You are an important representative of the gaming community and your opinions matter to us.
By becoming a playtester, you’ll have an exclusive first look at what we’ve got brewing. It may even be a prototype of the next blockbuster game! Of course, you’ll also be rewarded for your efforts in gifts or vouchers and our sincere gratitude.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME
Not an Esports Champion? No problem! We’re on the lookout for all types of gamers – experienced or casual. You’re eligible as long you’ve touched a single video game! We understand that players come from all walks of life and we’d love to have fresh perspectives.
WHAT SETUP SHOULD I HAVE?
Guess what – you don’t need a supercomputer to playtest, thanks to some really cool tech what you’ll need is only a stable internet connection with at least 10Mbps download / 2Mbps upload speeds (check your internet speed here). You will also need a game controller (Xbox or PS) and a microphone to communicate with our team.
On the day of the test, we will connect you virtually to one of the PCs at Ubisoft Singapore via a platform called Parsec. This requirement allows us to stream the game right to your screen smoothly.

The User Research Team will shortlist candidates based on gamer characteristics and the specific requirements of each test. You will receive an invitation email if you are selected. There are plenty of opportunities for playtests, so don’t worry if you don’t receive an invite immediately.
I’M SHORTLISTED, WHAT’S NEXT?
If you’ve received an invitation from us, the first step is to do a happy dance! Just kidding, we’ll need you to accept if you can make it and to check your inbox for a confirmation email. You can then verify your attendance and receive a virtual package with instructions for pre-test preparations.
On the day of the test, simply join the Microsoft Teams chat through the link sent to you. We’ll take it from there and guide you step by step.
